Famous People With Learning Disabilities

SUCCESS DESPITE THE STRUGGLE
There are many famous people with learning disabilities. In fact, the list of people who have succeeded in life despite their learning struggles is quite extensive! Here’s a brief snapshot: Scientists: Galileo, Louis Pasteur, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, and Alexander Graham Bell. Actors: George C. Scott, George Burns, Steve McQueen, and Sylvester Stallone. Authors: Hans Christian Anderson, George Bernard Shaw, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Musicians: Mozart, Beethoven, John Lennon, and Cher. Athletes: “Magic” Johnson, Bruce Jenner, Carl Lewis, and Nolan Ryan. Politicians: John F. Kennedy, Nelson Rockefeller, Dwight Eisenhower, and Woodrow Wilson. Military leaders: General Patton and General Westmoreland.

A CROSS SECTION OF GENERAL SOCIETY
Famous people with learning disabilities reflect the general makeup of society. According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 15% of the U.S. population has some type of learning disability. Of this segment, cognitive difficulties (which affect basic reading and language skills) are the most common problems. Likeh the general population, as many as 80% of famous people with learning disabilities primarily struggle with reading.

REAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE REST OF US
The fact that many famous people with learning disabilities have succeeded highlights the possibility for success. Although many of the people listed above never received help for their cognitive weaknesses, they still achieved success in life, despite the odds.

Today, advances in “brain research” and cognitive skills development mean that achievement is possible for a greater number of “regular people” struggling with learning disabilities. Instead of overcoming the odds with "special gifts" and/or “lucky breaks,” you can succeed by strengthening the core mental tools that produce learning triumphs.

You don’t have to be famous to succeed. Cognitive Skills Testing identifies core weaknesses. An effective, one-on-one training program builds the mental skills necessary for a lifetime of learning success! After two decades of clinical and scientific research, LearningRx has developed a proprietary, customized training system that builds auditory processing, visual processing, attention skills, memory skills, processing speed, logic and reasoning, and comprehension.
